CoRE Simulation Models for Real-time Networks

CoRE4INET Download

CoRE4INET was developed to be platform independent and can be used on Linux, OS X and Windows. It supports 32 and 64Bit Systems. Please note that we won't continuously test CoRE4INET on all platforms. You can see the current build status on different platforms with the current master branch below. If you experience problems while running on a specific setup, feel free to contribute a patch or open a ticket.

Installer (Recommended way of installation)

The easiest way to install our simulation models is the CoRE Simulation Model Installer. It is an OMNeT++ Plugin that helps you correctly install the models and their requirements. It can also provide you with a new version, when the models are updated Install the Plugin in your OMNeT++ IDE:

  • Open your IDE (e.g. OMNeT++/OMNEST) and select: "Help -> Install New Software"
  • Press the Button "Add..."
  • Insert a name for the new repository in "Name", e.g. "CoRE"
  • Insert the URL of our update page in "Location": ""
  • Select your new repository in "Work with...", this will take a while (showing "pending"). Be patient!
  • Select the feature "CoRE Simulation Model Installer" and press "Next"
  • The wizard will guide you through the installation...

After the installation you will find a new Menu option "Help -> Install CoRE Simulation Models...". The wizard will guide you through the installation of our simulation models. Please note that you also require the INET-Framework. You can install the latest version of INET-Framework using: "Help -> Install Simulation Models..."

We recommend using the installer plugin. In case you still want to install the models manually you can use these files:

Stable releases

There are no stable releases yet, please use the nightly builds instead!

Information regarding AS6802 Synchronization

The current nightly version does not contain the state machines for the AS6802 synchronization due to major API changes of the Scheduler module. If you would like to simulate AS6802 synchronization in detail you must use this Version with OMNeT++ 4.4.1 and INET Framework 2.1.0. The version is from may 2013 and does not contain the new features introduced afterwards. We are working to make the state machines functional with the current version of CoRE4INET but this will take some time. Unless you have a good reason to use the old version use the current version! It is right for most users! Due to a name collision with the IN enum, this Version does not build on Windows systems.

The CoRE4INET model is under continuous development: new parts are added, bugs are corrected, and so on. We cannot assert that the implementation will work fully according to the specifications. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE YOURSELF TO MAKE SURE THAT THE MODELS YOU USE IN YOUR SIMULATIONS WORK CORRECTLY, AND YOU'RE GETTING VALID RESULTS.
